Introduction with problem statement
Discuss your social problem topic including how widespread the social problem is, the reason why you chose the social problem, and why society should be concerned about the social problem. This may include statements you chose in week 4’s rough publish (from the textbook) with information from external resources. Also, to explain, pull in information from the current statistics versus at least 30 years ago. Give possible reasons why the issue has become more problematic or less common (based on the statistics you found).
Explain the one best theory (symbolic interactionism, conflict, or functionalism) for your topic. Then, briefly explain why the other two theories were not chosen as the best theory to explain your topic.
Discuss a solution to the social problem and support your solution with referenced information (from an external resource).
You will also want to ensure that you are:

use the facts listed in your text and the concepts in the textbook to draw your own conclusions
demonstrate exceptional critical thinking skills
apply the relevant concepts from the textbook chapters to the prompt
Use research to explain how your social problem could be addressed
Be as thorough as possible when writing your responses, and remember, this is an academic assignment, so no “text-talk,” no conversational tone, and ABOVE ALL OTHER THINGS… don’t plagiarize!! Lastly, spell-check and proofread your work! Failure to follow these steps will negatively impact your grade.

The Similarity Index shows a percentage of the material in your paper which matches other sources found by Turnitin. You will be expected to have a Similarity Index of less than 15%. If your Similarity Index is greater than 15% you will need to review your Originality Report to be sure that you have paraphrased your work appropriately and cited your sources correctly.
The Originality Report will help you to avoid plagiarism, and improve the quality and content of your essay. It is strongly suggested that you keep direct quotations to a minimum, and never copy and paste text without proper citations. You have until the activity due date to resubmit your work, however, there will be a 24 hour delay before the Originality Report becomes available.
